Downtown Rutland lost wonderful man and active community member this past Tuesday.

Steve Eddy, former owner of Book King, suddenly past. In honor of Steve’s life we will close the morning of Friday September 3rd to attend his life celebration ceremony. Our thoughts are with his family, and long time Book King colleague Joanne.

Steve, you will be missed. Thank you.

What a Summer! Saturday August 7th I was at Long Trail Fest. at the Rutland Fair Grounds celebrating the wonderful world of outdoor recreational opportunities, and the 100th birthday of Vermont’s own Long Trail.

August is marching onward toward my favorite season (okay, every season is a favorite).

Fall’s newest crop of Buff Headwear, Splend’ors beautifully jewel toned sweaters, Earth Creations tees for women & men, Tribal cotton blend pants…each week a new delight arrives.

With so much happening this weekend make time to make a day of Saturday in Downtown Rutland. Stop in and see our new arrivals, then meander to the Farmer’s Market and check out my Husband’s Chainsaw carvings.

The Sidewalk Sale & Ethnic festival are this weekend (July 30 & 31) so to celebrate we have marked down sale items to sidewalk sale prices.

Summer is officially here! Friday Night Live begins tonight and the theme is Beach Party.Find your brightest shirt, a big brim hat and bring a friend and come down to enjoy a beautiful night. I am help with the hula hoop challenge and I challenge you to out hula me!
